Forum "Ahnensuche Mitteldeutschland"
Hi, I am new to this forum.
My name is Martin Wirth. Research of my German heritage has been my passion for many years.
I am hoping to engage with someone who can inform me about German topics that I have been unable to find myself on the internet.
The eldest Ancestor I have been able to trace is Lorenz WIRTH geb. abt 1580 in: getraut :02 Nov 1602 in: Lommatzsch stammt aus 'Kitzing', kauft 16.11.1602 Haus auf der Meißn. Gasse für 430 fl., et Maria, Martini Sturm in Lommatzsch
oo2. Lommatzsch 09.03.1614 Barth, Margaretha
He is recorded in the Ev. Luth. Kirchgemeinde (Lommatzsch- Neckanitz), St. Wenzel also in the Conrad family records.
The Wirth family is then placed in Oschatz. Some of the Wirth records from St. Aegidien in Oschatz. Wirth/ Krause/ Juling 1723 -1761.are available.
The next place is Meissen. Ev.-Luth. Kirchgemeinde St. Afra Meissen Records Wirth/ Crusius (Krause)/Mosser/Moser/ Moserin. Families from 1762 to 1811.
The last place that I am aware that the direct family is listed
Christian Wilhelm WIRTH b 3 July 1801 Meissen (birth no 1801 christen no 124/93) Occup: (Riemer) m 26 Nov 1823 Apolda (Reg no 1823 / 143) Amalie Charlotte Pröbst (Tröbst) b 30 Jan 1803 (Reg 1803/610) d 9 Nov 1836 Apolda. To the present day.
The background information above is shown to advise of the information I have found without too much detail. Within these records I have found some things that I have been unable to interpret. They are listed below.
1. A traditional occupation of the males of the Wirth family was a Weissbacker. Am I correct in saying that this means that this occupation was a person who only baked white bread or baked with wheat??
2. The use of the diminutive suffix Wirth(in) or Wirth(gen) means that the person is related to the female side of the Wirth Family?
3. Lorenz Wirth is stated as coming from “Kitzing” I have found a small village in Lorraine by that name. This would fit with the family anecdote that the origins of the family were French Huguenot. But I have also been told that it was probably meant to mean Kitzingen, Lower Franconia. Could Kitzingen, Lower Franconia be named after Kitzing Lorraine??
If anyone could assist with these issues it would be of great help for me in a better understanding of my cultural heritage.
Thanks Martin Wirth |
